Due to the serious occurrence of insect pests in agricultural production, chemical pesticides are used in large quantities and frequently in some areas, which not only seriously pollutes the ecological environment, but also causes major hidden dangers to the quality and safety of vegetables and other agricultural products, and sometimes seriously affects the safe production of next crops. Therefore, reducing the dosage of highly toxic chemical pesticides and looking for safe and efficient biological control products are of great significance to ensure food and ecological security. Entomopathogenic nematode is a new type of high-efficiency biological insecticide, which can effectively control underground pests and borers that are difficult to be controlled by general chemical pesticides. It is an important alternative technology and products of chemical pesticides in agricultural pest control. Therefore, excavating the resources of entomopathogenic nematodes, screening efficient species, and studying the large-scale and low cost production technology, and matching application technology are of great significance for the sustainable management of agricultural pests.
The Plant Protection Institute of Hebei Academy of agriculture and Forestry Sciences has been engaged in the application and basic research of plant pathogenic nematodes andentomopathogenic nematode for a long time. Nine entomopathogenic nematode populations with good control effect on leek maggots were obtained, and their control potential in field environment was verified.
We are willing to cooperate with foreign research institutions and scientists to optimize the production technology of entomopathogenic nematodes and efficient supporting technology, to reduce the costs and improve the control effect.
